Class of 1970
Boston Mini-Reunion
April 29 and 30
Join us for golf, a Red Sox game, a tour of the Whitehead Institute and dinner at the home of Rick and Carol Smith. Please contact Brian Hunter bhunter@scagrp.com 617.450.9301 to sign up for golf Friday, April 29 at either The Country Club in Chestnut Hill or TPC Boston in Norton. Friday evening we are going to Fenway Park to see the Red Sox play the Seattle Mariners.
Saturday morning we gather at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research http://www.wi.mit.edu/ to tour their world-renowned labs and to hear Dr. Richard Young, an expert in cell-circuitry, unravel the mysteries and the mechanisms that control cell function. Dr. Young will tell us about the leading advances in understanding how genes instruct the behavior of cells and when they go wrong cause about 30% of all cancers. We will also hear from Dr. Christopher Loose '02, Ph.D. MIT and a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Princeton University. Dr. Loose will talk about his start up company, Semprus Biosciences http://semprusbio.com/ You may also ask Dr. Loose about the occurrence of a strange genetic anomaly as Dr. Loose is none other than the son of our own John J. Loose.
Saturday afternoon will be spent on your own, on the town exploring the sights of Boston with tips from the kind Krista Loose, daughter-in-law of Solicitor For Life Emeritus John Loose.
Saturday evening we convene for dinner in Lexington at Chez Smith, the home of our own Dr. Rick and Carol Smith(yes, he does have a Ph.D.).
