TRANSPORTATION – GETTING TO AND AROUND PRINCETON FOR REUNIONS
Getting to Princeton
The Princeton University Alumni Association sponsors a web page with links to air and train travel information, ground
transportation, driving instructions, and even Amtrak discounts and e-ride sharing for
reunions. The Association also has a reunions travel portal with links to information on transportation, local car rental, lodging and places to eat.
Getting Around Princeton
We strongly encourage you to take public transportation to get to and around Princeton this spring. While free parking is available in designated University parking lots. as in the past, it will be limited due to construction on campus. The
Alumni Association has published a directory and map in pdf format available by clicking on this link to reunion headquarters and parking map. Information about public parking in town is available by clicking on this public parking link. Saturday, May 29 promises to be a traffic nightmare in Princeton this year. Nassau Street will be closed to cars for most of the morning for the Borough's Memorial Day Parade, and traffic will be restricted in the evening due to the fireworks display. Free shuttle bus
service is provided between the campus and most Route 1 lodging. Last
year, seven separate bus routes served seventeen different hotels.
Depending on location of the hotel and the number of hotels on the
route, the buses were scheduled as frequently as each half hour, and as
infrequently as once every one hour twenty minutes. The Alumni
Association will publish the routes and schedules on its website, and
hard copies will be posted at the Class registration desk in
Dod-McCormick Courtyard.
Golf Carts
In the past, individuals have been able to rent golf carts through
Panek’s Golf Cart Service (609-490-0242). We expect this will be the
case once again. Panek’s offers carts that will seat either 2 or 4
persons. Carts may be ordered for the entire three days or just for the
P-rade. Because of risk management concerns, classes are not permitted
to rent carts on behalf of individuals, so anyone needing a cart must
contact Panek’s directly. If you do so, please advise our
Transportation Chair, Jack Wilmer (703-549-5974; email jwilmer@cameronllp.com.
Individuals should lock their golf cart with chains when not in use. It
is the responsibility of the individual to order, secure, and return
carts. Please order early to avoid disappointment.
